Frequently asked Questions!

What can we expect when acquiring a German Shepherd puppy from Yosemite Shepherds?

Our exquisite puppies are born and nurtured within the comforts of our home, (never confined outside in a kennel), where they are enveloped in love and care, receiving only the finest nutrition and vitamins. Each puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, comes with a health guarantee, is regularly de-wormed, and undergoes a thorough examination by a licensed veterinarian prior to embarking on their journey to their forever home.

During their time with us, our puppies are lovingly socialized with children, adults, and other animals, ensuring they are well-adjusted companions. They are ready to join their new families starting at eight weeks of age. Each puppy is sent off with a delightful bag of take-home treasures and a sample of the premium food they have been enjoying. Our puppies are AKC registered, with parents who have undergone extensive genetic testing (spanning 5 to 10 generations) to ensure only the finest bloodlines are represented.

In addition to being raised in a family environment, our puppies benefit from Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) between days 3-16 receiving abundant affection and gentle handling each day. This biosensor therapy is a swift and effective desensitization method developed by the military to enhance the health and and adaptability of animals.

What age do I get to pick up my puppy, and what will be included with them?

    • Veterinary health certificate

    • First round of vaccinations

    •  Dewormed on schedule

    • Lifetime breeder support.

Puppy Pick-Up Age

Puppies are ready to go home the day they turn 8 weeks of age.

Pick-up will take place on the weekend that falls closest, or must be previously arranged with us in advance.

Are your dogs good for family life?

Absolutely! Our primary objective is to cultivate exceptional family companions, protectors, and service animals. While their capabilities extend far beyond this, our focus is on creating well-rounded dogs that excel in various roles.

Purpose-bred means every litter is planned with intention. We carefully select proven bloodlines to ensure our dogs have the stability, intelligence, and structure needed to thrive in family homes, protection work, or service environments.

When it comes to choosing a puppy and making a deposit

The process is based on the order in which deposits are received, often even before the puppies are born they are reserved. However, there might be some wonderful puppies available for selection after they arrive. It really varies, so feel free to contact us for more information.

Do you allow breeding rights?

We have determined that to ensure the best homes for our beloved puppies and to safeguard these treasured and valued bloodlines, we must refrain from granting breeding rights under any circumstances.

Are home visits permitted?

We know how exciting it is to welcome a new puppy into your family, and we love that our families want to be as involved as possible. ❤️ That said, for the safety and wellbeing of our puppies and our family, we do not allow home visits.

Here’s why:

    1.    Health & Safety for Puppies – Puppies are extremely vulnerable to contagious diseases (such as Parvo) before their vaccinations are complete. Even a quick visit can unintentionally expose them to something harmful/deadly.

    2.    Low Stress Environment – Young puppies and also for our momma dogs they thrive best in a calm, consistent setting. Too many visitors can overwhelm them and interfere with their development.

    3.    Security for Our Family – For the protection of our home, our young children, and our dogs, we limit access to our property. This keeps everyone safe, comfortable, and stress-free.

4.   Privacy-At the end of the day, this is also our home. While we love sharing our dogs and puppies with you through photos, videos, and updates, we are also entitled to a little privacy for our family—just as your family is. That’s why we won’t ask to inspect your home before our puppies join it either. It takes mutual trust.

We know this policy may not work for everyone, and we completely respect your decision, just as we kindly ask that you respect ours.

Instead of in person visits, we provide regular photo and video updates every two weeks so you can watch your puppy grow until it’s time for pick up. We also stay in close contact to answer any questions and help you prepare for the big day.🥰

This is one of the ways we put our puppies’ health, safety, and happiness and our family’s well being first. Thank you for your understanding and for trusting us with this special journey! 🐶🐾❤️
